Denise Interchangeable Knitting Needles

Known for their interchangeable needles, this company has been making them since the 1970s.

They’re easy to use, smooth, long-lastings, available in many sizes, lengths, and tip bluntness or sharpness.

For the Denise interchangeable knitting needle, go here.

Denise Circular Needles

Though these are compatible with every other of its kind, they act as excellent fixed circulars.

  • Sizes – US 0 – 15
  • Cord Lengths – 17″, 20″, 24″, 28″, 38″

The stitches glide along the needle and smooth joins easily. They’re lightweight and easy to use.

Sometimes the needle snags the yarn, but this is usually a defect in the manufacturing.

FLEX Double Pointed Needles

They’re flexible and have the same functionality as normal ones but are easier to manage.

The needle tips are interchangeable with other products in their range. Perfect for small projects in the round.

  • Sizes – US Size 5 – 15
  • Lengths – 9.5″

Comes in a set of 3. Due to their design you don’t need 4 or 5, you hold the stitches with two and knit with the third

Easy to use once you get the hang of it. Some users find these better than standard double pointed needles.

Creates a uniform gauge.

Some may find the material uncomfortable, and it may become too warm in your hands.

  1. I have had a complete set of interchangeable for 20 yrs. For the most part I am very satisfied with them. My only complaint is I knit a lot of hats on circs but with the ndl length and variety of cords I cannot use mine as I nd a true 16″ ndl and even with my shortest cord, the needle is to long to use. It makes me sad that I had to go buy 16″ ndls in a variety of sizes.

    • Hi Linda. Thanks so much for sharing your experience of Denise Interchangeables. This is very helpful for other knitters who also prefer 16 inch circular needles. Cheers Jodie

  2. Denise makes shortie needles that work well for hats and such. They have fabric cases with needles that are also made in Virginia. The crochet hooks use the same cords and I’m finding that a crochet hook with cord and stopper stays found much easier than my old standard hooks.

They also have very great customer service.

    • Thanks so much Laurel for sharing your experience of Denise Knitting Needles. That’s super helpful to my readers about the shorties. Yes, I can imagine that a crochet hook with a cord and stopper is easy to find among your collection of hooks. Good to know the knitting needle cords can be used with the hooks. Thanks again. Cheers Jodie
