I highly recommend using a pattern to knit a Sweater with cashmere yarn. The designer gives details of the Cashmere Yarn weight and the yardage. This kind of yarn can come in chunky weights too.

The example pattern I’m using is Refine by Lisa Richardson for Rowan. It includes 5 different sizes. She suggests other yarns in the range that you could use too. It is an excellent option for advanced beginners to intermediate knitters.

How Much Cashmere Yarn Do I Need For a Sweater? 

To knit a Sweater with finished bust measurements of 38.5 inches (98 cm),  – (using the example pattern) you will need a minimum of 1050 yards (959 meters) of DK Weight #3 Cashmere Yarn, total weight of 12.6 oz (350g) – Number of skeins is 7 skeins (each skein weighs 1.8 oz/ 50g).
