The example pattern I’m using is the Fine Craft Guild Free Bikini Knitting Pattern.  It’s a simple Bikini pattern using basic stitches, using Fingering Weight Yarn #1. It is a great option for beginners. It gives a range of cup sizes.

To knit a Bikini top in size Bra size B, measuring 5 x 6.5 inches (12.5cm x 16.5 cm) and bikini bottom 8 x 17.5 x12 inches (20cm x 44.5cm x 30.5cm) – (using the example pattern) you will need a minimum of 470 yards ( 430 meters) of Fingering Weight #1 yarn, total weight of 4.4 oz (125g) – Number of skeins is 1.5 skeins (each skein weighs 3.5 oz/100 g). You can often find small lots of yarn from places where people donate yarn.
